Accessing Your Inner Wisdom Through the Power of Mindfulness

The law is a very demanding profession and a lawyer’s day is a frantic world of managing multiple tasks at work as well as home and social responsibilities and on and on and on. It is all-too-easy to get caught in the stress loop.

Stress among lawyers is among the highest of any profession. Lawyers fall into the trap of rumination on the past (I should have done this…) or projection into the future (I have to do that…) which causes the sympathetic nervous system to take over resulting in long term physical and emotional effects.

If not understood the results will create emotional and physical strain on personal and professional relationships, work fulfillment and productivity.

Having experienced stress as a teacher, university administrator and teacher educator, Jackie understands the challenges associated with this whirlwind life and has learned that mindfulness is a means to living a fulfilled life.  In this talk, Jackie shares her experience of stress, her healing journey and the vast research on mindfulness practices.
